Australia Thrash India by 110 Runs

India top order batsman failed once again and stumbled to 178 all out in the 44th over in Brisbane on Sunday in reply to Australia's 288 for 5 wickets.  Hilfenhaus and Brett Lee combined to reduce  India to 36  for 4 wickets within 11 overs.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat in hot temperatures and put 288 runs on the board in 50 overs.   India were not in a fighting mood all over their batting.  Dhoni assured that even if India lose he has to put some runs in his pocket so as to improve his career average as he was never seen like he is chasing a target of 288.  Some times it seems he is not playing for the country but for his survival.   Also dropping Ashwin is a big mistake since he was in good form with both ball and bat. When senior and experienced player like Zaheer is there I don't know why he gave the last overs to Pathan.  He may complete Pathan's over first and keep Zaheer for the last overs. People call Dhoni as a great Captain but I cannot see a Great Captain is there.  He don't know who to ball first and who to ball last.  He don't know who should be picked and who should be kept out.  Ashwin is the best available spinner there, then why Jadeja?  He should only be the second option.
Sachin is not in good form through out the series, then why more chances to him.  Manoj Tiwary is there, Sehwag can fire at any time.   Romours of internal difference is becoming true now as Dhoni don't like Sehwag as he is the threat to his Captiancy now.
Pathan proved his batting ability in the past, then why he is keeping low the order.  He can even bat in No.3.  Since Kohli and Sharma is not performing in the top order he should try Pathan or Ashwin at No.3 and by changing the order atleast Kohli and Sharma can do well and who knows Pathan or Aswhin may perform in No.3 at least for few games.   He should act according to the situation and even he himself may come and bat at No.3.  The captain should be the leader of the team not a tail enter.   It seems he is only worried about his career average and he is demoting himself down the order.  Once Yuvraj said in a function to a question about his captain "Demoting himself down the order", means all knows that what the captain is thinking.  So my strong view is that he should come top of the order and show the world that he is a Captain.

Breif Score

Australia - 288/5 (50) - M Hussey - 59, P Forrest - 52, Pathan - 61/3, Sharma - 17/1
India - 178/10 (43.3) - Dhoni - 56, Raina - 28 Hilfenhaus -  33/5, Brett Lee - 49/3
